Eastern Palace Card

Hey friends! Long time, no chat, I know! I’m finally graduated from my Master’s program and I’m so thrilled to be an “official” graphic designer now! It’s a dream come true and I really have cardmaking to thank for getting me into design and sparking my interest in the first place!

Today I’m sharing a card I made using the Stampin’ Up! Eastern Palace Premier Bundle. They were kind enough to send this to me to play with and it’s truly a gorgeous assortment of goodies. The dies were my absolute favorite part of this set, so I wanted to feature them on a card.

I added some of the patterned paper that comes in the set and some of the delicate gold foil stickers. I die cut the front piece from Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped the sentiment in the new Fresh Fig ink color.

Definitely check out this set if you’re looking for some beautifully elegant options for all kinds of card occasions!

Happy crafting,

Kalyn

Layered Vellum Thank You Card

Hey there and Happy New Year! I just love the fresh start that a new year brings and I’m incredibly excited for 2017! This is the year that I’ll graduate from my Master’s Degree program and start my career as a graphic designer. The future is so uncertain, but I’m just enjoying this season of life and all the blessings I get to experience day by day.

I’ve got a clean and simple thank you card to share today. LCI Paper was kind enough to send me some of their Gmund Color System line of paper to experiment with, so I made this card using their Felt cardstock as a card base and three colors of Vellum cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment in white using a stamp from the Kelly Purkey Best Friends set (love this set so much, but I don’t think it’s available anymore). The embossing worked really well on the colored vellum and I just love the light and airy feeling the vellum gives even though the colors are very saturated.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope there is a lot of crafting planned for your 2017!

Comfort & Joy Christmas Card

Hey friends! I can’t believe it’s time for Christmas and holiday cards already, but sure enough it is! They are truly my favorite cards to make and send. And all the stamp companies out there I think make their very best sets for the holidays.

The awesome people at Stampin’ Up! sent me one of their sets and new die sets to play with, so I made a super easy-to-make and send Christmas card. I used the adorable Christmas Pines stamp set for the sentiment and branches and then used the new Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies for the circle. I love the detail that the stitching gives on these basic shapes. They just add a bit of extra specialness!

I added some sequins and inked around the edges for a bit of added detail and warmth. Links to every product I used are down below!

I used the Be Merry stamp set which features lots of adorable sentiments. I also used one of my favorite winter sets, Fresh Snow for all of the snowflakes. I embossed them in white and then blended 3 different ink colors over top to create a fun rainbow effect. Some clear sequins were the final touch!

I used the Leaf Frame Die on this card which is part of the new release as well as the sentiment that you see featured here. I used all patterned papers from one of my favorite collections ever, the BasicGrey Grand Bazaar collection. You can still grab the 6″x6″ paper pad here on Amazon. I also used a leaf transparency from that collection as well. But the Leaf Frame die comes with the two leaves you see in the corner. You can keep them attached to the frame like I have theme here or you could easily trim them off and use them separately!

Hope you enjoy today’s hop and seeing lots of fun fall-themed projects!

Happy crafting,

I used the Arrow Dies set to create this fun card. These new dies are great because they include the full arrows as well as separate scored pieces for folding and adding on top! I paired them with a sentiment from the Fun & Flirty stamp set and papers from the Shine collection from Crate Paper. I then added some black ink splatters for an artistic touch!

Thoughtful Branches Card

Hey there! I’m so happy to say that I’m back home from a summer away and back in my beautiful craft space. I haven’t been able to craft very much these last two months because of my internship, but I’m so glad to be back in my happy place now. I had an awesome summer, don’t get me wrong. But there’s nothing like getting back into your favorite hobby that just makes you feel…centered. Pretty deep for a Friday, I know.

So let’s get into today’s card! The awesome people at Stampin’ Up! sent me the adorable Thoughtful Branches bundle to play with and I had so much fun using it. Botanical sets are my favorite to use, so this one is going to get a lot of love from me in the future. It’s super versatile and the coordinating dies open up the options even more. Here’s what I created:

su-branches-card

su-branches-card2

su-branches-card3

I made a subtle background pattern using two of the leaf stamps in the set and then stamped and die cut the tree trunk and leaves to add on top. I also added a little blue bird to the top of the tree (you get two birds in this set!). I finished off the stamping with one of the sentiments in the set and then added some buttons and a little patterned paper flag that matched my color palette!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and be sure to check out the Thoughtful Branches bundle while it lasts – the deal ends August 31st! All supplies I used are listed below!

Happy crafting,

Kalyn
