Wilson Designs June Release Day 3

Hey there! Welcome to Day 3 of the Wilson Designs June Release! I’m excited to share this next card with you as it’s one of my favorites that I created with this set. I’ve become quite addicted to incorporating gradients in my projects lately – from ink colors to cardstock colors and anything else you can think of. So I wanted to create a little matryoshka trio using a pink gradient effect:

And there you have it! Be sure to check out my fellow Design Team members and see what awesome creations they’ve come up with:

Wilson Designs May Release Day 4

Hey there! So we've finally reached the full reveal of the May Wilson Designs release! The name of this set is  called American Classic:

Drive in bestpreview

So many possibilities, right? It's a great set. My favorite images are the little popcorn pieces, so I saved the project I made with those for last:

To create the two-toned box of popcorn, I stamped the image once in yellow, trimmed it out leaving a thin white border and then stamped it again in red, trimming to the edges and trimming off the popcorn top. Then I adhered the red stamped piece to the yellow base and voila!

I hope you've enjoyed checking out all of our projects this week! Be sure to visit the rest of the Design Team's blogs and comment to enter to win an American Classic set for yourself!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great long weekend if you're celebrating Memorial Day in the US! I know I'll be enjoying that 3rd day of the weekend big time. :)

Wilson Designs May Release Day 2

Back again for Day 2 of Wilson Designs May Release Week! For this project, I used the same main stamp as the first card, but wanted to go for a very clean and graphic look. Here's my attempt:

I used some white embossing powder to make the car stand out and black dye ink for the sentiment – love that font on the word "classic."

Check out what the rest of the team did for their Day 2 projects:

Wilson Designs April Release Day 2

Happy Wednesday and Happy Day 2 of Release Week! Hope this middle-of-the-week finds you well. Personally, I'm looking forward to dinner with some friends that I don't get to see very often. Can't wait to catch up with them.

So here's my Day 2 project – a girly, pink gift bag using one main stamp as the focal point and pattern:

IMG_2209

Using stamps to create a background or a custom patterned paper is one of my favorite techniques. For this project, I wanted the hearts to pop a bit more, so I literally popped them up with some foam tape after stamping them on white cardstock to make them stand out.

Now head on over to the Design Team's blogs and check out their Day 2 projects! That's what I'll be doing. 🙂 And remember if you comment on our blogs (and the Wilson Designs blog), you increase your chances of winning this set!

Wilson Designs April Release Day 1

Screen shot 2012-03-19 at 10.21.50 PM

Happy Tuesday! And welcome to Day 1 of Release Week! It's supposed to be another warm day here on the East Coast and I'm loving every second of it (especially since I know the 50's are coming back to haunt me soon). So I'm enjoying it while I can and plan on getting a nice run in after work today.

Now on to the Wilson Designs project! I stretched myself to go clean and graphic with this card today:

IMG_2144

I layered a doily die cut from Spellbinders on top of a white card base with foam tape to give it a really subtle texture, but still keeping the very clean overall look. Then I stamped my images on patterned paper, trimmed them and adhered then on different levels (some with foam tape, some not) to give a varied look. The "beauty" stamp is masked from a larger sentiment.

So there you go! Hope you like it and be sure to visit the other Design Team Dolls' blogs to check out their cute projects and leave comments for your chance to win this set at the end of the week!

Wilson Designs April Sneak Peek

Hey there! Hope you had a great weekend! I certainly did. It was a lovely combination of great running with good people, ice cream and crafty work. I had the luxury of running in two unfamiliar places this weekend with two different friends from different parts of my life and that combination just led me to such a feeling of refreshment and energy. So I'm starting this week off with lots of good vibes. I pretty much feel like Jessica from the "Jessica's Daily Affirmation"  YouTube video. If you haven't seen it, I'll link it here. You'll love it.

Now on to today's festivities! It's the start of another Wilson Designs Release Week! And today's the Sneak Peek of the new set, so check it out:

Can you guess what this set might be about? Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you think! Tomorrow the other Design Team Dolls and I will be back with our first projects!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Wilson Designs Release: Snap Happy

Hey there! Happy Friday to you! It's been a busy week for me, but a good one. And today's the final day of the Wilson Designs Release Week. So, without further ado, here's the full set revealed:

14camerasetfinal1preview

You've just got to love those vintage cameras, right? The name of this set is "Snap Happy," so be sure to pick it up at the Wilson Designs site. You're going to want this one for sure. I made a gift bag for my final project and here it is:

IMG_1929

IMG_1932

I wanted to create something using all of the cameras together (since I think they're just too cute), so I made my own little background pattern by stamping them once on a piece of scratch paper and then again on the cardstock. I used the Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye and I love the look of it stamped using that "second generation" technique. Then I stamped the camera on cardstock and again on patterned paper to piece together the sides of the camera. I topped it off with some subtle Copic coloring and some Stickles glitter glue for the flash to give it some sparkle.

So that's it! I hope you're enjoyed this week's projects – I've certainly enjoyed making them and sharing them with you. And of course go and check out the other Design Team blogs to see their projects and leave a comment for your chance to win the Snap Happy set!

Wilson Designs March Release Day 3

Hey there! We're one day away from the full release of the latest Wilson Designs set! Today's day 3 and here's the card I made:

IMG_2035

IMG_2032

I went really clean and simple with this card and created a slight gradient using red, pink and baby pink inks for the film strip hearts. I then masked the sentiment stamp, so that I could stamp it horizontally (it comes stacked vertically, but with plenty of space for masking or trimming it) to better match the design of the card. I topped the whole thing off with some Tea Dye inking on the edges to warm it up and give it a finished look – it's amazing what a little edge inking will do, isn't it?

So that's it for Day 3! Be sure to check out the other Design Team gals' blogs for tons of inspiration and leave comments for your chance to win the set!

Wilson Designs March Release Day 2

Hey there! I'm back for Day 2 of Wilson Designs release week. Here's a card I made using the set:

IMG_2026

IMG_2038

I masked the sentiment for it would fit better on the label sticker I wanted to use. I also used a light blue Copic marker to color in parts of the camera to bring out the blue in the label sticker. I added the photo corner stamps to the 3 corners of this card at the last minute and I'm really glad I did. I think they look great over patterned paper.

Don't forget to comment for a chance to win this cute stamp set on the Wilson Designs DT blogs! Here they are:

Thanks so much for stopping by! We're only halfway through release week (but more than halfway through the actual week, didn't want to frighten you there), so there are two more projects from each designer yet to be revealed! So stay tuned!
