Celebrating Cath & Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hey there! I’m so excited today to be participating in a very special blog hop featuring brand new stamps and dies from the one and only Cath Edvalson! She’s teamed up with Technique Tuesday and had her own designs made into fantastic stamps and dies that I just love.
Most people know Cath as the former Creative Editor for Paper Crafts magazine and the writer of the Moxie Fab World blog. I was lucky enough to know Cath in real life when I met her during my internship at Paper Crafts in 2008. And she’s just as fun, sweet and creative as you’d imagine her to be! I spent a lot of time with her during my Utah adventure and she made me feel at home even though I was across the country from everyone I knew. I’ll never forget her kindness and the fun times we had together.
I just wanted to share that because it makes this blog hop extra special for me. To see a friend getting to experience such a fantastic creative opportunity is a joy. She deserves it and her designs are fantastic! So let’s get on to the hop, shall we?
Heart Thanks Card | Kalyn Kepner
I created this thanks card using the Heartfelt Thanks stamp set and the Garden Leaves die set. I stamped and heat embossed the heart stamp on watercolor paper then painted it with some Distress Inks and water. I die cut the leaf die out of teal cardstock and added those behind the heart. And of course added some rhinestones as a finishing touch!

And what would a blog hop be without some awesome prizes, of course?
Technique Tuesday is going to give away three prizes! One person will a package consisting of all 5 of Cath’s new products. Technique Tuesday will also give away two $25 gift certificates – pretty sweet huh?

Colorful Feathers Card & Monthly 5 Favorites

Hey friends! I hope you’re finding the beginning of August to be full of summer fun. I’m currently at the beach for a week and loving every minute of it. There’s nothing like waking up, having tea out on a balcony with the ocean breeze on my face. I’m so grateful for the time spent relaxing in such a calming location.

But before I go back into relaxation mode, I wanted to share what I’ve been up to lately! I created two new videos, a card tutorial and my July Monthly 5 Favorites video! Here’s the Colorful Feather Card that I created:

If you want to see the 5 top craft items I’ve been loving this past month, check out the latest video in my Monthly 5 Series! If you want direct links to my favorites, just click the “YouTube” button and you can watch the video over there. I put lots of information in the Description box of each video!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I just love sharing with you and making videos. I’m so glad that people are watching along and creating with me! It brings me such joy. Have an amazing week!

Modern & Whimsical Wedding Card

Hey friends! Hope you’re enjoying a beautiful summer day like I am here in PA! The last two days have been so gorgeous and I’m soaking up every minute. Today I’m popping in to share a card that’s up on the Silhouette blog!

I had a blast making a wedding card with a very modern couple in mind. Sometimes it’s fun to break free from the traditional color palette and go for a more whimsical, artsy approach. So that’s what I did here!

Embellished Elegance Birthday

Happy Monday, friends! Hope you had a nice, relaxing weekend and that your ready to take on the week! I’m enjoying my last day off before my second semester starts. I’m very excited to get back into the swing of designing and honing my skills, though.

One thing I’m resolving to do this new year is to try more techniques and experiment with  my supplies a bit more. I’ve been super inspired lately by Wilna Furstenburg and have been binge-watching her YouTube videos. She is so free and whimsical and her projects are just breathtaking. I’m hoping I can pick up some pointers from her and get a little more artsy with my designs.

On today’s card, I used Papertrey Ink stamps and a watercolor stamping technique. I first inked up my stamp, then used a spritz bottle to apply just one spritz of water to the inked stamp. Then I stamped it right onto the project! Easy peasy. I did this a few times for the bigger leaf cluster stamps and then stamped normally over top of them. I love the result and definitely want to try this on future projects.

I used the Embellished Elegance stamp set from Papertrey Ink on this card (one of my all-time favorites from them) and an assortment of Hero Arts, Tim Holtz and Papertrey Ink inks.

Have you tried this technique? I’d love it if you left a link to a card you’ve made in the comments section! Thank you so much for stopping by!
