Darling Layout

Hey there! Hope the middle of the week is going well for you! I’m in my first week back at school and so far it’s going great! I love the beginning of a new semester and I can’t wait for what’s ahead.

I just wanted to pop in and share a layout I made using the Crate Paper Kiss Kiss collection. I was feeling pretty lovey dovey and since Valentine’s Day is coming up soon, I wanted to document this photo using lots of hearts and pink.

I combined some chipboard, acetate pieces, die cuts and stamping on this layout and I love the effect of layering it all together. I also am really into framing my photos with some white paint streaks, so including that on here as well.

Hope you enjoy it and have a lovely day!

P.S. I’ve finally figured out this InLinkz thing, so you can shop the supplies I used down below! These are affiliate links, so if you choose to shop using them, I make a small commission at NO extra cost to you. Thanks so much for supporting me and my blog!

Valentine’s Day Love Cards

Hello friends! Happy Valentine’s Day to you and yours! Even when I was single (for what seemed like forever haha), I still always enjoyed this day. Any day that is heavy on the card-sending is one for me. And who can’t love a day about love, am I right? Anyhoo, I’m excited to spend a special evening with my boyfriend tonight and get super dressed up for a fancy dinner. But even if you’re staying home in sweatpants (what will ensue shortly after the dinner), I hope you have a fantastic day full of love.

Today I’m sharing some Valentine’s I made over the last month or so. Hope you enjoy! And keep your eyes peeled for a new video coming to my channel tomorrow!

Most of these cards use Paper Smooches stamps and dies from recent releases. If you have any questions about the paper or supplies I used, just let me know in a comment below and I’ll get back to you in a jiffy!

Lots of love,

Quick and Easy Ampersand Card

Hi there! Hope your Tuesday is going well and you’re staying warm! I’ve got another Valentine card to share today, but one that could easily make a great anniversary card as well. And it’s super quick and easy to make! Who doesn’t love that?

I used the Daily Flash set from October Afternoon, which is a fantastic must-have set if you like ampersands. And last time I checked, we all love ampersands. There’s just something about them. The sentiment I chose was from the Sock Hop Card Kit from Studio Calico.

Hope you liked today’s card and thanks so much for stopping by!

Love Monster Card

Hey there! I’ve got a short and sweet post for you today. This card could be used for a Valentine, Anniversary or just to say “I love you.” And it features one of my favorite Paper Smooches stamps – that adorable monster from the Falling For You set.

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper

Stamps: Paper Smooches

Ribbon: Hobby Lobby

That’s it for today! Like I said, short and sweet. 🙂 Hope you’re having a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Print Candee February Blog Hop

Hey there! Did anyone happen to catch the Grammy Awards last night? They're by far my favorite award show to watch, so I always enjoy them. Some highlights for me were Coldplay (big surprise, I love them), The Foo Fighters, Paul McCartney and Adele. Adele's music just cuts through me and watching her perform is so special. And how inspiring to watch her win for such a meaningful album! I could go on, but I won't. 🙂 It's time for blog hoppin!

Today is the first Print Candee Blog Hop of the year! Our theme this month is to use die cuts in some fashion. Lately, I've been really into using the negative space in die cuts, so I took that approach with this Valentine card and made a little window for my focal image.

Woodgrain I Love You Card

Hey there! Hope you had a fun weekend! I can't say I took part in any Super Bowl related activities, but I did complete a 4-mile run on Sudnay (a slow run, but a run nontheless), which was pretty super in my opinion. I've never run over 3 miles on the road before and while it felt great at the time, my knees and ankles are now pretty upset with me. We're not speaking, actually.

But when I wasn't running this weekend, I was putting some time into making cards! I finally got out of a little rut I had been in for the last few weeks and made a few projects for the Paper Crafts Stamp It Cards submissions. Today I thought I'd share  a super simple Valentine that I made for a previous call.

Well I hope you have a great start to the week and I'll be back here on Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by!

Sweetheart Valentine

Hey there! I hope you had a great weekend! Did you get any snow where you live? Here on the East Coast we saw about 4 inches or so. It's pretty, but makes me want to stay inside and admire it from the window, which becomes difficult when I have to go outside, scrape off my car and drive in it. Oh well, we're almost through January, so I can't complain (much). :)

I'm excited to share another Print Candee project with you today and a Valentine's Day project no less! I love creating cards for Valentine's Day, so when the Print Candee team was given an "anything goes" assignment, I went straight to the Valentine's Day products.

Here's what I made using some Made by Janet vintage ticket images:

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper

Patterned paper: Making Memories

Clear stamp: Papertrey Ink

Vintage dessert tickets: Made by Janet via Print Candee

Decorative scissors: craft store

I'm such a big fan of all of Made by Janet's vintage imagery and I've just been dying to use these tickets on a project. I printed out one of each and then used my small scalloped deco scissors to trim the ends so they looked ripped off of a strip.  And I can't seem to resist using pinking sheers on just about every project these days, so there you have it. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to check out projects from my fellow Print Candee teammates who are just so talented it's crazy. You can find their blogs on the sidebar of my blog. Have an awesome Monday!

Blue Valentine

Hey there! So I realize the title of this blog, "Blue Valentine" is actually a movie starring Ryan Gosling, which looked incredibly good, but incredibly sad, so I never saw it. Maybe I'll give it a shot eventually. After all, it IS a Ryan Gosling movie. 🙂

Anyhoo, this post is about a card, not a dreamy actor. I made this for the "Winter Blues" section of the January/February issue of Paper Crafts magazine. It didn't get picked up, but I had so much fun with this challenge. I get so sick of the traditional red/pink/white color scheme of Valentines that blue was a welcome change.

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper

Patterned paper: BasicGrey

Clear stamps: Layers of Color, Making Memories

Scalloped die cut: Spellbinders

Brad: BasicGrey

Edge punch: Fiskars

It's hard to tell from this photo, but I heat embossed a script stamp from "The Love Chapter" from Layers of Color in clear embossing powder. I like the subtle addition of textures it gives the card.

I hope you have a great weekend and thank you so much for stopping by! Maybe you'll watch a Ryan Gosling movie this weekend – because I'm pretty sure I talked myself into it. 🙂

Super Simple Love Card

Hey there! I'm here with a short post and a super simple card. Sometimes you have lots to say (or ramble on about, in my case) and sometimes you just stare at the blank page and can't quite come up with much. So today is one of those days. Hope you don't mind. 🙂

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper

Patterned paper: Making Memories, The Girls' Paperie

Ribbon: Papertrey Ink

Clear stamps: Layers of Color

Border punch: Fiskars

This Je t'Adore collection from Making Memories is so great for Valentine or Love-themed cards – pretty pink glitter on gorgeous patterned papers. Very cute.

Well thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic, crafty Wednesday!

Pastel Love Card

Hi friends! I hope this middle of the week finds you well. I'm busy getting ready for a 9-day trip to Spain this coming Saturday – lots of odds and ends to get in place before we fly out. I'm so excited! Speaking of excited, if you saw the results of Monday night's US Open, my favorite, Novak Djokovic won! I was so incredibly happy for him (and not at all surprised that he won). So, to show my love for Djokovic, how about a love-themed card? 🙂

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper

Patterned paper: My Mind's Eye, Cosmo Cricket

Clear stamps: Studio G, Papertrey Ink

Buttons: Papertrey Ink

I stamped the "love" 3 times in a row on the polka dot paper then trimmed the ends with small scalloped scissors to give the ticket effect. I'm a big fan of using tickets as elements on just about everything lately, so I love using this stamp.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great rest of the week!
