Love Lives Here Card

Hey there! I find it hard to believe that the holidays have come and gone and we're getting ready to start a new year. But I am excited about it. I have so many big plans for 2012 and a lot of exciting changes as well. It will defnitely be a year to enjoy.

Today I'm sharing a quick and  easy card I made featuring one of my favorite stamp sets that I own from Papertrey Ink – the Love Lives Here stamp set designed by the one-and-only Melissa Phillips.

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper

Patterned paper: Cosmo Cricket

Stamps: Papertrey Ink

Punch: Marvy Uchida

I thought this card would be nice for a house-warming or even a "just because" kind of occasion. My favorite part of this stamp set is the typography that Melissa and Nichole chose. What can I say? I'm a sucker for a mixture of typefaces in a single sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you on Friday!

Bold & Bright Grad Card

Hi friends! What a week it's been! I've somehow managed to pack a ton into my schedule these last 4 days and I'm quite ready for a quiet, relaxing weekend (and by that, I mean a non-stop card-making fest). :)

So, a week or so ago a friend asked me to make a card for her to give to a friend. She needed a graduation card and I took that opportunity to try out a different style and color scheme, since graduation cards often require specific product that I just didn't have. I love making cards for other people because it gives me a chance to experiment with different styles without over-thinking it like I often do for magazine submissions. Here's the result:

SUPPLIES:  Cardstock: The Paper Company, Bazzill Basics Paper  Patterned paper: American Crafts  Clear stamp: Papertrey Ink  Embossing powder: Hampton Art  Watermark ink: Tsukineko  Button: Papertrey Ink  Floss: DMC  Edge punch: Fiskars

Like I said, I didn't have any graduation-specific embellishments on hand (except for the stamp), so I went for a more abstract, typography theme. I also decided to keep the design very simple and let the colors pop. I'm loving navy and berry colors lately. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
