Print Candee May Blog Hop

Hey there! Long time, no blog, I know. I've been so busy preparing for my upcoming cruise (in 12 days!!!) and finishing projects to post while I'm away. But it's been a fun (maybe interesting is a better word) exercise in how quickly I can create. This coming weekend will be my sprint to the finish to see how much crafting one person can really do in 2 days. And somehow I'll have to squeeze in a last-minute shopping trip (a girl needs white shorts for a cruise, am I right?).

Anyhoo, today I have a really fun Print Candee project to share with you. The awesome Creative Team Coordinator (and a sweet online friend of mine), Jocelyn Olson found a fun inspiration photo for the team to create cards based on.

We could choose any piece or aspect of the inspiration photo to create from and the multi-colored clutch in the right corner spoke to me immediately. So I came up with this:

I chose a bunch of different patterned papers that had colors close to the ones in the bag, then tweaked them here and there in Photoshop to get as close to the colors in the bag as possible. I also used a woodgrain patterned paper for the center embellishment to mimic the wooden clasp on the front of the bag. Then I topped it off with a little heat embossing with an American Crafts stamp.

Everything I used (except for the stamp, cardstock and embossing powder) is from the Print Candee site. Here's the specific list of patterned papers I used (in clockwise order):

Green floral

Blue dots

Blue stripes

Orange hexagons

Yellow grid

Pink umbrellas

Fuschia chevron

Now it's time to hop on to the next designer's blog! Here's the order of our hop:

Thanks so much for stopping by and hopping along with the Print Candee gals and I. Have a great first day of May!

Print Candee February Blog Hop

Hey there! Did anyone happen to catch the Grammy Awards last night? They're by far my favorite award show to watch, so I always enjoy them. Some highlights for me were Coldplay (big surprise, I love them), The Foo Fighters, Paul McCartney and Adele. Adele's music just cuts through me and watching her perform is so special. And how inspiring to watch her win for such a meaningful album! I could go on, but I won't. 🙂 It's time for blog hoppin!

Today is the first Print Candee Blog Hop of the year! Our theme this month is to use die cuts in some fashion. Lately, I've been really into using the negative space in die cuts, so I took that approach with this Valentine card and made a little window for my focal image.

Now for some Blog Hop details! There are two fun prizes to be won – a $10 gift certificate to Print Candee as well as a set of Spellbinders Shapeabilities Nested Pennants. These prizes are "hidden" on the Creative Team's blogs, so be sure to stop by each member's post and leave a comment to increase your chances of winning. You have until 11:59pm EST on Saturday, February 18th to leave a comment and the winners will be posted on the Print Candee blog.

Print Candee Blog Hop – December

Hi there! I know I didn't post yesterday, but that's because today is another Print Candee Blog Hop! The rest of the Creative Team and I each created a new project using digital goodies from the Print Candee store. For December, we're doing a "card styles" theme and each member of the team chose a different style  - graphic, fun/cute, shabby chic, traditional and vintage.

Since I've been obsessed with all things vintage lately, I gave that style a try using an adorable graphic from Made by Janet. Her designs are simply gorgeous and you can find tons of them at the Print Candee store

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper

Patterned paper: BasicGrey

Vintage graphic: Made by Janet from Print Candee

Dies: Spellbinders Paper Arts

Buttons: Papertrey Ink

As usual, Print Candee is giving away some sweet prizes that are "hidden" on all of our blogs, so be sure to leave a comment on this post by 11:59pm EST on Saturday, December 17th. Leave comments on everyone's blogs to up your chances of winning and of course, stop by the Print Candee blog to comment there.

I'm the "last stop" on the Creative Team blog hop, but in case you'd like to hop on back, here's the list of the other Creative Team members:

Kalyn (that's me)

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you've enjoyed checking out all the various card styles that we each tried out. Trying a new style is such a great way to stretch your creativity, so if you're ever in a creative rut, try something new! Have a great Thursday!

Print Candee Fall/Spring Blog Hop

Hi there! I'm excited to be participating in another Blog Hop for Print Candee and this time the rest of the Creative Team and I are taking on Fall and Spring-themed projects. I created a fall-themed gift tag using the "Autumn Happy" clip-art set by Print Candee.

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper

Clip art: (branch, acorns from "Autumn Happy" set) Print Candee

Clear stamp: Paper Smooches

Twine: The Twinery

I chose to use these cute branch and acorn images to make a set of fall tags – they're a great quick and easy craft to make for several people.

So to make this hop even more fun (because more fun is much better than just plain fun), there will prizes "hidden" on each Team member's blog – so be sure to stop by each one and comment for your chance to win. Here's the list of bloggers:

Jennifer (Guest Creative Team member)

Kalyn – that's me!

In addition to winning prizes from our individual blogs, you can stop by the Print Candee blog and leave a comment there for a chance to win. And what are you trying to win? How do gift cards to the Print Candee store and Two Peas in a Bucket, sound? Good. They sound good. 🙂 Make sure to leave your comments by 11:59 pm on Saturday, October 29th!

So get hoppin'! The next stop on the hop is to Jackie. Have fun and best of luck!

Print Candee Blog Hop

Hey there! I hope you're week's going swimmingly well so far! And if it hasn't, it's about to get much better because I have another blog hop for you! Whoo hoo! This time it's for Print Candee – I'm a new design team member with them and I'm really loving it. They sell digital clip art, stamps, patterned papers, scrapbook page kits, fonts, and a lot more from various digital designers. So you can purchase designs made by Print Candee itself or designs from a bunch of other designers – it is quite literally a candy store for digital craft goodies.

So back to the blog hop. This particular hop has a fun theme – babies and kids! Who doesn't love a baby or kid, right? They're pretty darn cute. So, we're celebrating the little ones with projects inspired by them. I created this card using a clipart set from Digital Potpourri called "Cute Jungle Animals" along with a piece of patterned paper from the "Sweet Girl Baby Shower" paper pack by Print Candee.

Patterned paper: (pink stripe) Print Candee, (gingham) October Afternoon

Now onto the extra fun part! There are prizes! Can I get a whoo hoo? We have some awesome prizes that are "hidden" on some of our blogs, so you increase your chance of winning by commenting on each stop of the hop. The prizes at stake include: Print Candee gift certificates, Papertrey Ink Favor It Die #6, Papertrey Ink white cardstock, Martha Stewart punches, Japanese washi tape, Glue Dots Dimensional and Mini adhesives, American Crafts Thickers and Doodlebug Design border stickers. Sheesh! Are they not awesome? Wish I could win. 🙂 We'll announce the winners of the prizes on September 5th. You have until 11:59pm EST on Saturday, September 3rd to comment for prizes. So don't forget! And not only are there prizes on our blogs, but there is one prize being given on the Print Candee blog, so be sure to stop by there and leave a comment to win.

And if that isn't enough (of course it is, but who doesn't want even more?) the Print Candee store is offering 15% off of everything right now! Prices are very reasonable to start with – especially since these are supplies that you can use over and over again – and now they're even cheaper! So guilt-free shopping right there.

Well now it's time for you to hop to the next blog which belongs to the sweet and talented Marion Vagg. Visit her blog here and hop along!

To start this hop from the very beginning (which you definitely should to get the full hopping experience) go to the Print Candee blog and start the hop there.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hopping along with me again!
