Hey there! I’m so happy to say that I’m back home from a summer away and back in my beautiful craft space. I haven’t been able to craft very much these last two months because of my internship, but I’m so glad to be back in my happy place now. I had an awesome summer, don’t get me wrong. But there’s nothing like getting back into your favorite hobby that just makes you feel…centered. Pretty deep for a Friday, I know.
So let’s get into today’s card! The awesome people at Stampin’ Up! sent me the adorable Thoughtful Branches bundle to play with and I had so much fun using it. Botanical sets are my favorite to use, so this one is going to get a lot of love from me in the future. It’s super versatile and the coordinating dies open up the options even more. Here’s what I created:
I made a subtle background pattern using two of the leaf stamps in the set and then stamped and die cut the tree trunk and leaves to add on top. I also added a little blue bird to the top of the tree (you get two birds in this set!). I finished off the stamping with one of the sentiments in the set and then added some buttons and a little patterned paper flag that matched my color palette!
I hope you enjoyed today’s card and be sure to check out the Thoughtful Branches bundle while it lasts – the deal ends August 31st! All supplies I used are listed below!

I used the Promenade Icons die set, the Promenade stamp set and the Scripty Sayings stamp set. I wanted to create a letter/postcard look, so added a little stamp embellishment in the top right corner and a second sentiment in the return address area.
Hope you enjoy today’s hop! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hey friends! Hope your week is going swimmingly well! Are you enjoying some nice spring weather? We’re finally getting some mild (and even downright beautiful!) temps here on the East Coast and I’m loving it.
So that’s it for today’s card and video! I make one video per week (hoping to up that to 2 this summer!), so if you want to see them as soon as they go live, you Subscribe to my channel over at YouTube. It’s free and if you have a Gmail account, you already have a YouTube account! Easy peasy.
Happy Monday, friends! Hope you had a nice, relaxing weekend and that your ready to take on the week! I’m enjoying my last day off before my second semester starts. I’m very excited to get back into the swing of designing and honing my skills, though.
One thing I’m resolving to do this new year is to try more techniques and experiment with my supplies a bit more. I’ve been super inspired lately by Wilna Furstenburg and have been binge-watching her YouTube videos. She is so free and whimsical and her projects are just breathtaking. I’m hoping I can pick up some pointers from her and get a little more artsy with my designs.
On today’s card, I used Papertrey Ink stamps and a watercolor stamping technique. I first inked up my stamp, then used a spritz bottle to apply just one spritz of water to the inked stamp. Then I stamped it right onto the project! Easy peasy. I did this a few times for the bigger leaf cluster stamps and then stamped normally over top of them. I love the result and definitely want to try this on future projects.
I used the Embellished Elegance stamp set from Papertrey Ink on this card (one of my all-time favorites from them) and an assortment of Hero Arts, Tim Holtz and Papertrey Ink inks.
Have you tried this technique? I’d love it if you left a link to a card you’ve made in the comments section! Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hi there! Hope your Tuesday is going well and you’re staying warm! I’ve got another Valentine card to share today, but one that could easily make a great anniversary card as well. And it’s super quick and easy to make! Who doesn’t love that?
I used the Daily Flash set from October Afternoon, which is a fantastic must-have set if you like ampersands. And last time I checked, we all love ampersands. There’s just something about them. The sentiment I chose was from the Sock Hop Card Kit from Studio Calico.
Hope you liked today’s card and thanks so much for stopping by!
Hey there! I hope you’re having a good week so far! It’s been another super busy one for me, but I’ve been trying to get my craft on after work instead of relying solely on weekends (because we all know how fast they like to fly by). This past Friday I celebrated my 25th birthday! I went on a day trip to NYC and had an amazing time shopping and eating, eating, eating. “Yum” is really the only word I have to describe that day.
Anyhoo, I’ve got another Paper Smooches card to share with you! This one features the set Daisies & Paisleys:
I’m having a lot of fun with mist lately. For this card, I used a Tattered Angels mist to create a pink background and then heat embossed all the paisleys on top! Truth be told the orange paisleys were actually created using a very bright yellow embossing powder, but for some reason it turned out to be more transparent than opaque so they look orange. I was really annoyed at first, but then ended up kind of liking the effect so I went with it and used an orange patterned paper for the mat.
Do you ever make crafty mistakes that you turn into something better? A “make it work moment” as Tim Gunn would say. I make quite a few in the craft room whether it’s getting an ink smudge on a piece of white cardstock or cutting something to the wrong dimensions…I’ve done it all.
Hey there and Happy Thursday to you! The weekend is near! It’s Pep Rally week and the other design team gals and I are here today to share a sampling of the Paper Smooches August stamp release with you! The three NEW clear stamp sets will be available to purchase at 12:01am, Eastern time on August 1st. You will find them HERE.
To add extra fun to our blog hop…we are offering up a prize! Just leave a comment on any of the five design team blogs listed below for your chance to win one of the three new August stamp sets! (You do not need to comment on all blogs to qualify.) You have until midnight MT on Friday, July 27th to leave a comment. Please check all five blogs on Saturday, July 28th to see if you are one of the five lucky winners.
4. Tell us that you posted on your blog about our blog hop
(which means that you have up to four chances to win on each blog)
Here’s the card I made using the new Halloween-themed stamp set, Spookalicious.
So there you have it! The pumpkin stamp as well as all the pieces to make different faces (eyes and mouths are separate) are in the Spookalicious set and are perfect for customizing your own Jack-O-Lantern! The “eek” sentiment is from the Quick Quips set.
Thanks so much for hopping along with us! Have an awesome day!
Hey there! It’s been quite a long week and I hate being so absent, but I’m back! 🙂 And I’ve got a fun Paper Smooches card to share with you! This one uses the “Space Cadet” set:
I used October Afternoon paper for the background and Copic markers to color in the rocket ship image. A little white embossing powder for the sentiment and stars helped them pop against the dark background. Even though it’s tricky to get heat embossed images to look perfect, I still love the effect. After all, what handmade creation is “perfect” anyway?
Thanks so much for stopping by and you’ll be seeing lots more of me on the blog next week! Have a fantastic day!
Who knew that household chores could actually be fun? Okay, well they aren’t actually. But, the new “Squeaky Clean” stamp set from Paper Smooches definitely makes them look a lot more fun. Be sure to go check out the set here.
Kim featured one of my cards using “Squeaky Clean” yesterday on the Paper Smooches blog, so I thought I’d share it here today.
Cardstock: Bazzill Card Shoppe, Patterned paper: Crate Paper, My Mind’s Eye, Sassafras Stamps: Paper Smooches “Squeaky Clean” set Markers: Copic Dye ink: Ranger Twine: The Twinery
For this card, I really wanted to incorporate different textile patterns that you might see on clothing to reiterate the ironing idea. I also think the little shirt stamp is just dying to be repeated and made into its own little background element, so I incorporated that as well. 🙂
