Layered Vellum Thank You Card

Hey there and Happy New Year! I just love the fresh start that a new year brings and I’m incredibly excited for 2017! This is the year that I’ll graduate from my Master’s Degree program and start my career as a graphic designer. The future is so uncertain, but I’m just enjoying this season of life and all the blessings I get to experience day by day.

I’ve got a clean and simple thank you card to share today. LCI Paper was kind enough to send me some of their Gmund Color System line of paper to experiment with, so I made this card using their Felt cardstock as a card base and three colors of Vellum cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment in white using a stamp from the Kelly Purkey Best Friends set (love this set so much, but I don’t think it’s available anymore). The embossing worked really well on the colored vellum and I just love the light and airy feeling the vellum gives even though the colors are very saturated.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope there is a lot of crafting planned for your 2017!

CARDS Magazine March 2012 – Easter Card

Hey there! We've made it to Friday once again! Nothing could make me happier. I had a little bit of a rough day at work and followed it up with a rough 4-mile run after the rough day – lots of roughness. And it made me realize that a day can be as perfectly mundane and uneventful as any other, and your running route can be the same old 4 mile loop you've been running on for weeks now and yet some days it's just going to be harder to get through. And that's okay. I didn't let it consume me and I didn't dwell on it. I'm just glad it's over, so I can get to some nice, un-rough days ahead. 🙂

With Easter approaching this weekend, I've got a cheerful and springy Easter card to share. I had this one published in the March 2012 issue of CARDS magazine:

Definitely head on over to the Northridge Publishing site and grab the digital copy of the March 2012 issue for only $6.95! Their photography never ceases to amaze me and really lets you see the projects up close and personal.

I kept this card pretty simple with some BasicGrey stickers, October Afternoon gingham paper and Papertrey Ink stamp, buttons and ribbon. But you can get the full supply list and instructions in the issue.

If you celebrate Easter, I wish you a very very happy one!

CARDS Magazine – January 2011

Hi friends! I hope you had a fantastic weekend and that you enjoyed the SuperBowl festivities last night! Today, I want to share with you a card I recently had published in CARDS Magazine's January 2011 issue.

I used some October Afternoon and BasicGrey papers, QuicKutz die cuts, a Papertrey Ink stamp and a Jenni Bowlin calendar die cut. You can find the complete supply list and instructions on how to make this card in the January 2011 issue of CARDS Magazine.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I'll be back on Wednesday with the Peek of the Week!
