Hey there and Happy New Year! I just love the fresh start that a new year brings and I’m incredibly excited for 2017! This is the year that I’ll graduate from my Master’s Degree program and start my career as a graphic designer. The future is so uncertain, but I’m just enjoying this season of life and all the blessings I get to experience day by day.
I’ve got a clean and simple thank you card to share today. LCI Paper was kind enough to send me some of their Gmund Color System line of paper to experiment with, so I made this card using their Felt cardstock as a card base and three colors of Vellum cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment in white using a stamp from the Kelly Purkey Best Friends set (love this set so much, but I don’t think it’s available anymore). The embossing worked really well on the colored vellum and I just love the light and airy feeling the vellum gives even though the colors are very saturated.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope there is a lot of crafting planned for your 2017!
Hey there! I've been on a mini blogging vacation this week, which I never really intended to go on. I love blogging and sharing my work with my fellow crafters, but I'm in create/deadline mode right now, so I don't have a lot of projects I can share online…yet. 🙂 They'll be coming soon. So, I thought for today I'll share a fun little photo editing project I did using some of my favorite PS techniques.
For this photo, I used the Sugar Crystals action from Print Candee and then brought in the blur tool to focal the eye on the Chrysler building in the background of the photo. In my original photo, I hated the dark building to the right, but after applying the action, it brightened it up and created the perfect place to rest a title.
I took this photo on my October trip to the city with my Sony Cybershot point and shoot. Although New York was not the easiest place to live, I sure do enjoy visiting it often. The architecture, the food and the atmosphere (for the most part) always excites me. I'm looking forward to going back in June to see "Once the Musical"! It's based off of one of my favorite movies (and the show came highly recommended by Kelly Purkey), so I couldn't resist grabbing tickets. This next time, I'm bringing my DSLR and can't wait to get some fun photos around the city!
Hope you have a great weekend and I'll be back Monday with an actual card project! 🙂
Hi friends! I'm really excited to be posting today because it's actually my birthday! Yay! Sure, it's just another day and it's the middle of the week and I have to work, but I'm going to keep getting excited about my birthday for as long as I can. For me, it's not just another day, but the start to another chapter of my story. It's also the last time I'll be in my "early twenties" so I'm soaking it up. 🙂 And to top it all off, I'm lucky enough to have some fabulous friends who I'll be dining with tonight.
I'm also blessed to have a super sweet friend who shares my birthday, so a huge Happy Birthday to Rachel (who is also a brand-new mommy this week)! So, since today is going to be a day of celebration for me, I'm sharing one of my recent favorite celebration cards.
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper
Patterned paper, die cut: My Mind's Eye
Clear stamp, ribbon, buttons: Papertrey Ink
Tab die: QuicKutz
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and for taking part in my little birthday celebration. My blog has been a huge source of joy for me this year and I feel like it's really grown – and it's because of you, my crafty friends. So thank you!
I'm really excited for where this next year of my life is going and I can't wait to share more about what's ahead for me. I'm definitely taking some inspiration from one of my crafting idols, Kelly Purkey and making a "24 before 25" list and creating a layout to document it. I can't wait! 23, I'll miss you, but I think 24 and I are going to have a lot of fun.
