Print Candee June Blog Hop

Hey there! Happy June 1st! I can't believe we're finally into the summer months! I don't care how hot it gets, I love every sweaty minute of the summertime. Perhaps that's a bit gross, yes, but nothing beats wearing flip flops, spending time outside and eating ice cream on a regular basis.

And to make this first of June even sweeter, I've got a Print Candee project to share with you along with the other super talented ladies on the Creative Team! This time we used a photo/color scheme from Design Seeds to inspire our projects:

I chose to echo the grungey look by using Photoshop brushes and then added in some whimsical birds and a stamped sentiment:

Grunge brushes: Photoshop Brush Grunge No. 1, Photoshop Brush Mist from Adrienne Looman Designs via PrintCandee.com

Bird clip art: Bird Silhouettes Clip Art from Pink Pueblo via PrintCandee.com

Stamp: My Mind's Eye

So there you have it! Now on to the other Print Candee gals' posts! From my blog you'll hop on to the lovely Therese. And in case you want the full order of the hop, here it is:

Kalyn (that's me!)

Have a fantastic first day of June and a great weekend and I'll see you back here on Monday!

Folk Art Thank You Card

Hey there! I'm popping in on a Saturday to share a Print Candee card that I made. Our theme this month is thank you cards for specific people. So, for this one I created a thank you card for a teacher. Teachers still like apples, right? 🙂

I found this clip art set from Adrienne Looman Designs on the Print Candee site and knew immediately that I wanted to create a folk art-inspired image for my project. I created the entire thing in Photoshop and printed it out on white cardstock – easy! Usually I love layers and texture, but sometimes I really like the simple, digi look.

Be sure to check out the other gals on the Creative Team, as they've all been posting Print Candee projects this week too! Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Print Candee May Blog Hop

Hey there! Long time, no blog, I know. I've been so busy preparing for my upcoming cruise (in 12 days!!!) and finishing projects to post while I'm away. But it's been a fun (maybe interesting is a better word) exercise in how quickly I can create. This coming weekend will be my sprint to the finish to see how much crafting one person can really do in 2 days. And somehow I'll have to squeeze in a last-minute shopping trip (a girl needs white shorts for a cruise, am I right?).

Anyhoo, today I have a really fun Print Candee project to share with you. The awesome Creative Team Coordinator (and a sweet online friend of mine), Jocelyn Olson found a fun inspiration photo for the team to create cards based on.

We could choose any piece or aspect of the inspiration photo to create from and the multi-colored clutch in the right corner spoke to me immediately. So I came up with this:

I chose a bunch of different patterned papers that had colors close to the ones in the bag, then tweaked them here and there in Photoshop to get as close to the colors in the bag as possible. I also used a woodgrain patterned paper for the center embellishment to mimic the wooden clasp on the front of the bag. Then I topped it off with a little heat embossing with an American Crafts stamp.

Everything I used (except for the stamp, cardstock and embossing powder) is from the Print Candee site. Here's the specific list of patterned papers I used (in clockwise order):

Green floral

Blue dots

Blue stripes

Orange hexagons

Yellow grid

Pink umbrellas

Fuschia chevron

Now it's time to hop on to the next designer's blog! Here's the order of our hop:

Print Candee March Kit – Fantastic Boy

Hey there! Happy March 1st! Hope you enjoyed your extra day yesterday. Today's not only a brand new month, but the release of a brand new kit from Print Candee called Fantastic Boy. This kit is perfect for babies and little boys, whether you're scrapbooking, making cards or decorating for a party. I made a birthday card using a few elements from the kit:

For this card I used the alphabet, the paper airplane clip art, the banners (they come individually and you can easily make them into a straight banner) and the woodgrain and striped patterned papers. The woodgrain is my absolute favorite in the bundle, so be sure to check that out. You can buy the entire kit as a whole or buy each pack of embellishments/papers individually and for the first week of this month, you can get everything in the kit for 35% off! So, be sure to check it out at Print Candee and snag it during the sale. 🙂

Well, I hope you enjoyed checking out the latest Exclusive Collection from Print Candee! I absolutely love the playful designs and cheerful color combinations that they use and the formats are always so easy to work with. And the great thing with digital supplies is that you can use them over and over again…forever! So, it's really an easy purchase to justify. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to check out my fellow Print Candee Creative Team members – their blogs are linked on the left side of mine. Have a great day!

Print Candee Blog Hop

Hey there! I hope you're week's going swimmingly well so far! And if it hasn't, it's about to get much better because I have another blog hop for you! Whoo hoo! This time it's for Print Candee – I'm a new design team member with them and I'm really loving it. They sell digital clip art, stamps, patterned papers, scrapbook page kits, fonts, and a lot more from various digital designers. So you can purchase designs made by Print Candee itself or designs from a bunch of other designers – it is quite literally a candy store for digital craft goodies.

So back to the blog hop. This particular hop has a fun theme – babies and kids! Who doesn't love a baby or kid, right? They're pretty darn cute. So, we're celebrating the little ones with projects inspired by them. I created this card using a clipart set from Digital Potpourri called "Cute Jungle Animals" along with a piece of patterned paper from the "Sweet Girl Baby Shower" paper pack by Print Candee.

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper

Patterned paper: (pink stripe) Print Candee, (gingham) October Afternoon

Jungle animals clipart set: Digital Potpourri from Print Candee

Button, ribbon clear stamp: Papertrey Ink

Twine: The Twinery

Now onto the extra fun part! There are prizes! Can I get a whoo hoo? We have some awesome prizes that are "hidden" on some of our blogs, so you increase your chance of winning by commenting on each stop of the hop. The prizes at stake include: Print Candee gift certificates, Papertrey Ink Favor It Die #6, Papertrey Ink white cardstock, Martha Stewart punches, Japanese washi tape, Glue Dots Dimensional and Mini adhesives, American Crafts Thickers and Doodlebug Design border stickers. Sheesh! Are they not awesome? Wish I could win. 🙂 We'll announce the winners of the prizes on September 5th. You have until 11:59pm EST on Saturday, September 3rd to comment for prizes. So don't forget! And not only are there prizes on our blogs, but there is one prize being given on the Print Candee blog, so be sure to stop by there and leave a comment to win.

And if that isn't enough (of course it is, but who doesn't want even more?) the Print Candee store is offering 15% off of everything right now! Prices are very reasonable to start with – especially since these are supplies that you can use over and over again – and now they're even cheaper! So guilt-free shopping right there.

Well now it's time for you to hop to the next blog which belongs to the sweet and talented Marion Vagg. Visit her blog here and hop along!

To start this hop from the very beginning (which you definitely should to get the full hopping experience) go to the Print Candee blog and start the hop there.
