Print Candee June Blog Hop

Hey there! Happy June 1st! I can't believe we're finally into the summer months! I don't care how hot it gets, I love every sweaty minute of the summertime. Perhaps that's a bit gross, yes, but nothing beats wearing flip flops, spending time outside and eating ice cream on a regular basis.

And to make this first of June even sweeter, I've got a Print Candee project to share with you along with the other super talented ladies on the Creative Team! This time we used a photo/color scheme from Design Seeds to inspire our projects:

I chose to echo the grungey look by using Photoshop brushes and then added in some whimsical birds and a stamped sentiment:

Print Candee May Blog Hop

Hey there! Long time, no blog, I know. I've been so busy preparing for my upcoming cruise (in 12 days!!!) and finishing projects to post while I'm away. But it's been a fun (maybe interesting is a better word) exercise in how quickly I can create. This coming weekend will be my sprint to the finish to see how much crafting one person can really do in 2 days. And somehow I'll have to squeeze in a last-minute shopping trip (a girl needs white shorts for a cruise, am I right?).

Anyhoo, today I have a really fun Print Candee project to share with you. The awesome Creative Team Coordinator (and a sweet online friend of mine), Jocelyn Olson found a fun inspiration photo for the team to create cards based on.

We could choose any piece or aspect of the inspiration photo to create from and the multi-colored clutch in the right corner spoke to me immediately. So I came up with this:

I chose a bunch of different patterned papers that had colors close to the ones in the bag, then tweaked them here and there in Photoshop to get as close to the colors in the bag as possible. I also used a woodgrain patterned paper for the center embellishment to mimic the wooden clasp on the front of the bag. Then I topped it off with a little heat embossing with an American Crafts stamp.

Everything I used (except for the stamp, cardstock and embossing powder) is from the Print Candee site. Here's the specific list of patterned papers I used (in clockwise order):

Green floral

Blue dots

Blue stripes

Orange hexagons

Yellow grid

Pink umbrellas

Fuschia chevron

Woodgrain

Now it's time to hop on to the next designer's blog! Here's the order of our hop:

Print Candee Blog Hop – April

Hey there! I'm back with another Print Candee Blog Hop! This month's theme is Mother's Day to get us sharing ideas for the holiday next month. I went for a gift bag design using a combination of Photoshop brushes and clip art.

Supplies

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper

Patterned paper: Kaisercraft

Butterfly clip art: Adrienne Looman Designs via Print Candee

Vintage banner brush: Adrienne Looman Designs via Print Candee

Floral frame brush: Adrienne Looman Designs via Print Candee

To create my sentiment, I created a path in Photoshop over top of the scroll brush and then typed along the path. Curving a thin sentiment stamp would work well for this too. I went for a non-traditional, more whimsical color scheme for this project. I just wanted something springy with a lot of character.

Now get hopping to my fellow Print Candee Creative Team members (oh how I love these gals – their work is fantastic and they're all so sweet!):

Lisa Arana

Jocelyn Olson

Marion Vagg

Therse Calvird

And what would a Blog Hop be without a fun prize? We've got 2 $10 Print Candee gift certificates to give away to someone who comments!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Print Candee Vintage Bee Card

Hey there! Happy April 1st! I'm not one to really get into the "April Fools' Day" part (although, I always enjoy Google's joke), but I'm always happy to cross over into the more springy months.

Today, I've got a Print Candee card to share with you – using clip art, brushes and a patterned paper from the store!
