My Favorite Things Sketch #239

Hey there! So it’s my final day as a Guest Designer for the My Favorite Things Challenge Blog. It’s been such a fun time and I’ve really enjoyed creating new projects with their latest stamps and dies! And of course, my dear friend Susan, has said such sweet things about me over on the challenge blog. She really is the best cheerleader and supporter.

Let’s get on to today’s sketch shall we? This is #239 and I interpreted it with a balloon as the main focal circle and some stamping as the accent circle. I had a lot of fun with this using the Die-Namics Blueprints 26 die set and the Birthday Wishes & Balloons stamp set. They make a fun birthday card come together effortlessly.

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge 235

Hey there! I’m here with some exciting news today – I’m the July Guest Designer at My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge blog! How fun is that? I love using sketches in my card designs, so was thrilled to get to play with some MFT goodies and sketches.

I took Sketch #235 and created a bright and simple birthday card:

Happy Birthday Balloons Card | Kalyn Kepner for MFT

I used a yellow, teal and green color scheme to create a card that I thought would work for any recipient. I stamped a balloon background on my focal point circle element and then topped it off with a sentiment banner and two stamped and die cut balloons. I added some white gel pen to the stamped balloons to give them a bit of reflection.

I hope you play along with this week’s sketch! I’d love to see what you create! Thank you so much for stopping by and thanks to My Favorite Things for letting me play along with them this month!

I used the Promenade Icons die set, the Promenade stamp set and the Scripty Sayings stamp set. I wanted to create a letter/postcard look, so added a little stamp embellishment in the top right corner and a second sentiment in the return address area.

Hope you enjoy today’s hop! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Die Cut Collage Smile Card

Hi there! I hope your week had a great start yesterday! I’ve arrived back home from New York and the National Stationery Show. It was beyond inspiring. I saw so many amazing cards and gorgeous booths. I made a whole list of companies that just blew me away. Fox & Fallow, Rifle Paper Co. (of course!), Studio Oh!, Holstee, Katie Leamon, the list goes on.

I also experienced the most delicious tart in the world. Tart, you say? Yes, tart. Strawberry rhubarb, to be exact. With chamomile ice cream on top! Divine, I tell you. It was from The Red Cat in Chelsea. Pricey place, but worth it for a great dinner (and tart!).

So that was my in-a-nutshell recap of the National Stationery Show and now on to today’s card!

Die Cut Collage Smile Card | Kalyn Kepner | www.paperislove.com

I created this card using the Open Road collection from Crate Paper as well as a Silhouette cut file (this was a free one!) and a Paper Smooches sentiment from Scripty Sayings. I also added some subtle stamping using Papertrey Ink’s Postmarks set. I’m having such a love for black and white mixed with florals and other colors. If you need proof, check out my floral & striped card tutorial on YouTube!

Classic Car Father’s Day Card

Hi there! I hope this Wednesday finds you in the middle of a great week. This is an exciting week for me as I’ll be heading to the National Stationery Show in New York City on Saturday! I’ve never been to the show and thanks to one of my super-talented professors, I’ll be able to attend for a day.

So let’s get rolling on to today’s card. I’ve got a Father’s Day card to share that would be perfect for the auto enthusiast in your life. My dad had a 1956 Chevy and this vintage car embellishment reminds me of it almost exactly. The paper and die cuts are from Crate Paper’s Open Road collection and I die cut the sentiment from my Silhouette using a simple font.

Speaking of Silhouette, have you heard about the new machines they’re releasing this fall? I’m so excited for that. That’s it for today’s card! I hope it gave you a Father’s Day idea! I’ll be back with more this week, so stay tuned.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Hi Hey Hello Card

Hi there, friends! Or should I say, Hi Hey Hello! Today I’m sharing a simple, but fun card using lots of bright patterns and some simple alphabet stamps from Sweet Stamp Shop.

I simply stamped the alphabet outlines in black and filled them in with Copic markers. The die cuts and enamel dots are from various Studio Calico card kits. I’ve disassembled all of my kits and use the pieces whenever I need embellishments. I just love having a stash of easy-to-use elements at my reach.

HI Hey Hello Card

Here’s hoping your week is going well and you’re enjoying some spring weather wherever you are!
