Lucky to Know You Card

Hi there! Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I certainly can’t remember any St. Patrick’s Day with snow on the ground, but that’s what we’ve got here today. It’s officially been the longest winter ever. But, maybe our luck will change (see what I did there?) and we’ll get some spring happening here soon!

So today I’m sharing a fun little card I made using Paper Smooches Spring dies and A Magical Spring set for the sentiment.

Kalyn-Spring-Dies-Shamrock

This card was super simple to make and I love the sentiment because it could be sent to any friend or family member.

So that’s it for today! Hope you had a relaxing weekend and that you’re getting a head start on this week’s to-do list!

Card Creations Volume 12 Designer Blog Hop

Hey there! Happy Friday and welcome to the final day of Card Creations week with Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine. This special issue (in its 12th volume!) is just one of my favorite things ever. If there were a Kalyn’s Favorite Things (like Oprah, of course), this issue would be one of them. It’s packed with cards for every occasion you could think of and features 200+ card ideas to instantly inspire you. Get your own copy here (or keep reading to find out how you could win your own free copy).

I’m honored to be one of 8 designers participating in this blog hop and we’re sharing a brand new project based on a sketch! I chose the one below:

49 - K. Kesti

And here’s the project I created inspired by this sketch:

Kalyn-Camera-Smile

I took a non-literal approach to the grid pattern and used fewer pieces and arranged them a little bit less linear and more…free-form. Listen to me getting all technical. Ha! I just glued them how I liked them. ūüôā And of course, popped some of the cameras up using foam tape for dimension. Then, I stamped a sweet sentiment from Paper Smooches as well as a heart!

Time to go check out the other designers playing along with this hop! And be sure to leave a comment on each designers’ post because we’re giving away a copy of Card Creations 12 to one of you! Just leave a comment by March 11th on this post and I’ll choose a winner and your very own copy will arrive right on your doorstep!

True Stamp 2014

Hey there! Hope you’re having a good week so far! I’m fresh off of a crafty whirlwind (and my floors covered in glitter and die cut scraps are proof) from submitting to Paper Crafts last night and now on to clean up and reorganization mode. I actually really like putting my supplies away – is that weird? Guess it gets me inspired to make more stuff. ūüôā

And speaking of making more stuff, have you heard about the upcoming event on April 5th called True Stamp? I’m sure you have, but in case you haven’t, it’s an online one-day event for stampers that features classes taught by top-notch instructors in the industry. You’ll learn new techniques, tips, tricks and the best part is that you can replay the event over and over again, so you won’t miss anything! Check out all the details, class descriptions and more here.

Truestamp2014 copy

The sponsors and teachers really are awesome:¬†Technique¬†Tuesday, Lawn Fawn, Simon Says Stamp, Raisin Boat, Paper Smooches, and Mama Elephant.¬†The cost of the True Stamp registration is normally $97, but if you use the code LOVE, you’ll save $48 off of the price, basically cutting it in half. And if you leave a comment on this post, I’ll give away a spot to one lucky crafty gal (or guy!). Just let me know your favorite ink color (I’m always on the hunt for more) and I’ll pick a random comment to win! You have until the 15th to comment. And the coupon code works until the 17th. So what are you waiting for? Get ready for True Stamp 2014!

I used the new Hooties stamp set to create this Valentine. I just adore Kim’s owl designs, so I’m ecstatic (as I’m sure many will be) to see them again in this set. I also went with a purple color combo (my fave color) to mix things up and I”m happy with how it turned out!

Thanks so much for stopping by and hopping along with us!

I used the woodgrain background stamp from this set (my favorite) and then added some leaves and a sentiment from two other new Paper Smooches sets! ūüôā

paper is love on Etsy

Hey there! I’m so happy to announce that I’m making a return to the world of Etsy! I gave it a try a few years ago, but got a bit discouraged and gave up. But now I’m back at it and don’t plan on retiring so easily this time around. ūüôā

Here are a few of the cards you can find in my paper is love shop at the moment:

For my project, I used the Love Struck stamp set along with its coordinating dies to to make a clean and graphic Valentine.

  Kalyn-Love-Struck

I just adore the arrows in this set, so I knew immediately that I wanted to highlight them as my main design focus. And arrows are so on trend right now too, so this set even works for non-Valentine projects! Throw an arrow on a scrapbook page or card to add emphasis to a sentiment or embellishment!

Thanks so much for hopping along with the design team and myself! Here’s to feeling thankful!
