Watercolor Birthday Card

Hey there! Happy Friday to you! I can’t believe it’s the first of August already! Where is this summer going? I’ll be holding on tight and enjoying every warm day, that’s for sure.

Once again, I’m sharing a card I made inspired by an online challenge. I was too late to link it up on the site, but wanted to share it because I love how it turned out. I really enjoy challenges to spark my creativity and set me free to try techniques that I wouldn’t normally try. Next time, though, I’ll try to submit it on time. Hehe.

This is the card I created for the Curtain Call: Birthday Bash challenge:

Watercolor Birthday Card

I busted out my watercolor palette and watercolor paper and went to town on this card. I really just wanted to create a whimsical party feeling and then echo the shapes and colors of the papers in the image. I paired it with  Studio Calico stamps for my sentiment and I love the way it finished off the look.

Have you experimented with water coloring yet? Let me know your favorite tips for watercoloring (I’m still new).

Thanks for stopping by! Stay crafty!

Hi Kalyn! Gorgeous card! Love the watercolors. Thanks for leaving me a comment on the American Crafts blog. The cut file that I used to create my layout is from The Cut Shoppe Etsy store and is called The X File.
