Hi there! Today I’m writing a post to celebrate one of my favorite crafty people in the world, along with just a few friends. Ha! If you haven’t noticed, there are a couple hundred of us on this Moxie Fab Thanks Blog Hop. Pretty cool, if you ask me. And we’re all doing this for one special lady and her huge contribution to the hobby we love so dearly.
Cath Edvalson, one moxie fab heck of a woman, editor, trend-spotter and writer. Man, is she a good writer. I had the pleasure of meeting Cath in 2008 when I ventured out to Utah to begin my summer internship for Paper Crafts magazine. Knowing no one there, Cath welcomed me into the Paper Crafts family and even into her home to celebrate July 4th (I would’ve been sitting in my hotel room alone). She and her husband Mark showed me such kindness and hospitality, taking me out to dinner and on a gorgeous Utah hike and of course hosting one amazing porch party. 🙂 Her family was my family-away-from-home and having that meant the world to me.
But beyond knowing Cath in person as a warm, passionate-about-her-job, inspired and energetic person, I’ve known her as the editor of the Moxie Fab World. I truly believe her presence on that blog has changed the industry immensely. Card-making is not a second-string hobby anymore. Remember when 6×6 paper pads didn’t exist? ‘Cause I do. I know that Paper Crafts and the MFW have a lot to do with that. And Cath is one of those people, one of those writers whose passion is infectious. She’s been able to inspire so many crafters around the world because she herself is inspired. And shouldn’t we all be so lucky to have that spark and to be able to share it so beautifully, so eloquently and so…moxily with the whole world.
So, here’s to you, Cath. To your years of contribution to Paper Crafts magazine, to the Moxie Fab World, to the paper-crafting industry, to your never-ending source of inspiration and to your genuine love for this hobby that we all appareciate so much.
Cath Edvalson…I’ll drink to her!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Much love!
