Scor-Pal and Paper Smooches

Hey there! Happy Memorial Day! While it’s fantastic to have a day off of work, what makes this day truly fantastic is remembering those who have served our country and sacrificed so much in the process.

Today, I have something special to share – a project combining both Paper Smooches products and the Scor Buddy from Scor-Pal. These two awesome companies have joined forces this week to bring you lots of inspiration and I’m excited to be a part of it!

I personally don’t know how I survived without a Scor-Buddy. I guess I was dealing with ragged edges on card folds and using a long-discarded paper trimmer (with a mechanical pencil) to score things. Yeah, kind of shameful when you think about it. For this particular project, I wanted to make something using score marks as part of a pattern and here’s the result:

I used the Wicked Nauticool set from Paper Smooches along with the Anchor stand-alone die. I used chipboard letters from an older BasicGrey line (Eskimo Kisses) for my sentiment. The star stamps are also from Wicked Nauticool. I’m just so in love with the nautical trend right now. It may have been going on for a little while, but I’m still adoring it. It’s one of those classic, preppy looks that will never really go out of style. At least in my book. 🙂

I’m excited to see what everyone else will be doing with their Scor-Pal projects! Both the Scor-Pal blog and the Paper Smooches blog are giving away prizes, so check out both every day through Friday, May 31.

I love the card. Very patriotic without being so loud.
I agree that the nautical theme is fun and in-style – and I hope it lasts a long time.

Kayln, love your nautical themed card. I too just love that look. Guess it was all the time spent by the ocean on summer vacations. This set is being used so much right now too. Thank You.

This is very cute! I love simple scoring adds so much to a card, and the stamped stars kick it up to the next level.

Like your nautical themed card! The scored lines make such a terrific background. The great thing about a Scor-Pal is that you can vary the widths and line designs, vs an embossing folder, which you can turn various ways but not really alter. 🙂
