Clean and Simple Birdie Birthday

Hey there! I hope your week got kicked off to a great start! I know that lots of kids are going back to school this week (mainly because of all the school buses that have made my commute to work just a little bit longer) and I have to say I’m a bit jealous. Haha Now that I’ve been out of school for a few years, I long for that yearly structure and the constantly changing subject matter. I guess that explains why I’ve signed up for several online classes in the past year!

So this card has nothing to do with back to school, but it does have birds on it, so that’s someting. 🙂 Working with Paper Smooches stamps has really stretched me creatively and helped me to look at my stamp sets in new ways. So while I was featuring the Graffiti stamp set in this card, I just knew there was something else I could add to it. Then the idea of little birds sitting atop the letters came to mind and this card was born:

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper

Paper Smooches Stamps: Alphabet from Graffiti set, larger bird from Hang Ups set, smaller bird from Spring Groves set

Twine: The Twinery

Markers: Copic

I find it amazing how Kim can take such tiny stamps and give them so much character and personality. All of her creatures just make me laugh. I love them.

I kept this card really clean and simple because I wanted the focus to be on the detailed sentiment and didn’t want patterned paper to compete. But lately, I can’t resist a pinked/zigzag edge. You might just see one of them on every single one of my upcoming projects. Yeah…I have a problem. 🙂

Well, I hope you have a fantastic Tuesday and I’ll be back in a day or two with another project (and probably another pinked edge!). Thanks for stopping by!

Super sweet card Kalyn! It’s been many years since I was at school… don’t think I can remember quite that far back now!
